I was volunteering at the Miramare Marine Reserve in Trieste and after the agreed period the Biologist I was working with, suggested that I embark on a boat with a captain he knew. I accepted immediately, it was an adventure that I could not give up. And it all started from here …<\/p>\n In 17 years of navigation I have embarked on ancient brigantines, luxurious yachts, sailing boats, gulets and prestigious sailing ships. One year I even went back and forth on different boats for a Sicilian charter company, every week I was in a different boat! I have practically covered all the roles on board, except the engineer. I served as a ship boy, sailor and boatswain, until I became commander and armament commander. I worked as a cook, hostess and chief.<\/p>\n I have always thought that knowing how to cover all the roles on board, without being entrenched in a single position, allows me to have a much broader view of my work.<\/p>\n Interests:<\/strong> This question has always put me in a bit of trouble, I never know where to start and in what order. I consider myself an extremely curious person and this has led me over the years to have many, many, sometimes too many interests. Maybe I should leave for my unconditional love for the sea and animals, this “special bond” that I feel with nature has made me what I am and led me to choose the life I am living. I’m definitely a child of Wanderlust: traveling, discovering the world, meeting other peoples and broadening one’s horizons is an essential part of me.<\/p>\n I love reading, a passion that I have cultivated since childhood, a good book is medicine for the soul, I love cinema, I have a weakness for fantasy that literally make you travel to other worlds and a great passion for photography. She says I should have at least a hundred years with all the jobs I’ve done and skills I have.<\/p>\n My curiosity, talent and will for manual work allowed me to approach many professions.<\/p>\n I started helping my father when I was 10, he’s a plumber and I’ve always accompanied him on construction sites. Over time, working alongside many professionals, I learned to be an electrician, a painter, a mason and much more. I attended the nautical high school and became a cadet officer. After graduating, I immediately embarked on a 1977 Benetti of 40 meters, Intuition Lady and I worked for the owners company for 10 years. On board I did everything, from the able seaman to the help in the engine room up to the first officer. The ship has undergone several refitting in my long period of embarkation in which I have supported and collaborated with mechanics, welders, carpenters and electricians. After the first three years of embarkation I took a break for almost four years, I built a music recording studio, took over and started a bar in my home town and worked on the tugboats in Trieste. Then I returned to work aboard Intuition Lady for another seven years, until the Alice in Waterland project was born.<\/p>\n Interests:<\/strong> My biggest passion is music: I’ve been a drummer since I was 8 years old. I have played with several bands over the years and still collaborate on various musical projects today. I love to do anything manual, I enjoy creating objects from various materials and modifying salvaged objects. I never had a PC as a child, but as I came into contact with the digital world I fell in love with it, I love video games, I create graphics and edit videos. Federica introduced me to the beauty of travel which became my passion as well.<\/p>\n
